I would prefer to be able to sit and have a quite conversation over a beverage of choice. No commitment or pressure. I would not really consider this a first date, it would be an introduction to the first date.

Simple, but fun. Something easy and basic. No preasure to continue if it does not feel right and what we are looking for in a mate

ideally a nice country pub with a roaring log fire nice glass of wine ...or in the summer a pub by the river .. or nice walk on the beach chat and get to know each other ,,fish and chip supper

Does not need to be anything fancy, just a nice atmosphere to be able to talk & get to know each other. Preferably someplace on the quiet side without too many distractions.
